I don't know what everyone is freaking out about.
I heard from an inside source that the cooperative event between the code and marmite guys is going to do a big mining op together in Umokka. I bet it will be a lot of fun. I heard they're inviting anyone who wants to come.
I think they should be allowed to mine in peace. If you don't want to participate, let them be. Mo |

But I'm not too optimistic. OP obviously doesn't know the definition of insanity. Doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. Isn't that what CODE. does every day? Same thing over and over again (ganking miners), expecting different results (miners not being AFK). I think you just called yourself insane (as well as OP, that is certain).
I don't see your point. CODE doesn't expect miners to change.
This is like saying miners shoot rocks everyday expecting different results.
I think the only change CODE wants is from CCP, and they're griefing the only way they can think-of until they lose interest or get nerfed out of existence. |

Veers and I were talking about this type of thing on one of the other threads.
As I understand it, this is exactly the kind of collaborative high-sec experience for which he's been pushing.

I didn't want to say anything in case it was supposed to be on the downlow, but I heard Veers actually arranged this Alliance between CODE and the Marmites.
I respect the effort he makes to stay "the man behind the curtain". He is quite an influential player.
You know what a zealot he is for collaboration in high sec. He will stop at nothing to make it so! |

Cool, how is that Jita scamming thing you were doing going? I think one of the other threads you said you were trying a new ninja looting setup? How is that going?

In EvE... The REAL wins don't show up on kill boards. Sure, combat is fun, and kill boards are a neat tool, but they don't measure things like intelligence ops, ransoms, thefts, scams, or whatever your flavor is.
To quote kniht...( a great director from ducks)... You are not your killboard. You are not your wallet. You are having fun, or you have already left.
Edit: 1v1 doesn't make you a boss PVP god. It means you fly kitey crap and only, ever, engage things you are certain to win over. That's not skill, its selective combat. Nothing against the guys who solo, but its their cup of tea, not the whole game's.

Dracvlad wrote:Sophie Mahler wrote:just sayin
but it's only a game, relax, nobody got hurt
is it really so important, the loss of a virtual starship in a video game
games are meant to be played for fun, some of you guys clearly don't have fun, maybe because of ganking, but realize that despite ganking, others, plenty others still have loads of fun in EVE, so maybe it IS possible, despite CODE. being around, to have fun in this game.
So now there are few ways to go about it
1. cry and whine, and ask for the game to be changed to YOUR liking (which may or may not interfere with the way others actually do have fun with)
2. adapt and evolve
CCP already, I believe, made it clear that they don't see ganking as violation of their EULA so this is not going away, deal with it.
so either adapt and evolve and find out other ways to have fun either keep playing a *game* that is not fun to you (it's not supposed to be fun for everyone), which is pretty stupid, as games are meant to be fun
or just find another game to play; a game where you can actually have fun.
it's just sad to see people logging in even tho they don't have fun with the game anymore. sounds like something rather unhealthy to me.
The question is what YOU can do to have fun, DESPITE those setbacks
in life there's always setbacks, challenges to overcome, eve is no different
obviously, MANY people find lots of way to have fun despite CODE. being around, so it is YOU who complain, who are doing something wrong.
just trying to help
relax, it's just a freakin video game, you don't want to be that guy flipping out about a video game do you? If you read the forums as I have done since I have been playing you will notice firstly how lame the forums are, I used to really enjoy reading C&P, now its an echo chamber for people who do not do anything in game. And yet they post as if they do, its rather sad. So all I am doing is having fun by pointing out that fact, if you think I am in anyway freaking out then I suggest you need to look at yourself. In affect I just took an obvious pile of bull and flogged it to death for lols, and while doing so I had the pleasure of seeing them all talk like carebears, saying ISK generation is more important than blowing up stuff, it was pure pleasure for me. CODE are content creators, they are fun, the setup is rather amusing and is fun to get in the way of, they are now rather ineffectual in terms of mining ships, they just kill noobs that are stupid, so they have moved off to do freighter ganks as part of Miniluv, they are very good at it and the struggles around a bumped freighter have been epic, some times they kill it and sometimes the AG group save it. Marmite just camp hubs and pipes with fast locking ships and mainly kill noobs, they are very good at what they do, if you go after them with an organised fleet they run. I had a friend who was once a leader in the Orphanage and Marmite are effectively them but now, he liked talking about the approach, I listened to what he had to say. It is interesting to see just how fractured the hisec war deccers have become again. So just chill out about people playing forum games, I had fun pulling the leg of someone I consider as full of hot air, nothing more than that, but if you want to see it as freakin out then that is your problem....
I think someone is having a case of the Mondays...

I just realized something.
For my playstyle (casual conflict, making jokes, confusing issues, inspiring fights, etc...), the forum has actually surpassed Eve in the quality of the player interaction.
Admittedly, I can't station hump here, which saddens me.
This is exactly the experience I used to try to create in local chat. They have now just moved it to the forums. I can't make miners and mission runners participate as easily as I once could.
Also, I'm the guy who isn't doing anything in game and who pvp's on the forums, which leads me to my next point:
My forum-pvp-killboard would be better than Dracvlad's, I bet, if I had one.
That is all, Mo

@ Dracvlad. I liked this so I'm confirming I am Mobadder's alt too
This is true.
However, I also single handedly multi-box the entire Marmite collective.
It's really busy to do it that way... Stressful even.
I really need a new hobby.

On a side note, your accusations about my lack of PvP knowledge are flawed. I've never told people how to PvP as that's not my field of expertise. What I have done is advised them how to avoid it by using the available tools, game mechanics and some basic planning to their advantage, most of which is in line with the advice that gankers themselves hand out; not that many take that kind of advice because it involves effort and paying attention to the game instead of watching faptube while mining or autopiloting their hauler full of shinies into Uedama. For the record; while I have liked my own posts with an alt in the past, I haven't done so in months.

Count me out of that one. The only value Jonah brought to C&P was his epic trolling and profanity in the thread about me, in some kind of sad attempt to draw admin attention. He adds nothing in game, and even less on the forums. You're confusing Johan with our dear Kaarous, at least the profanity bit, both of them know what they are talking about. We love them both equally though. <3 No it was Jonah - I never get confused.

Veers, I had a great idea to support your "No Newbro Left Behind" initiative! Tengu helped come up with it! He's one smart cookie!
I was thinking we could start posting exorbitant buy orders for civilian components on the market.
That way people could farm civilian components for isk while helping retain new players! What do you think? I think we could retain players through market action!
I wonder if the dev's have considered NPC agents buying these?
What do you think? Worth a dozen plex or so?
I need your input, it's just a concept right now! Mo |
